The anti-lock braking system is the electronic wheel motion control system that, during the braking process, is responsible for preventing the wheels from coming to a complete standstill (locking). The latter is undesirable and usually contributes to a reduction in traction (i.e., a reduction in the ability to change direction and an increase in the vehicle’s stopping time).
